Adult Sailing
At SailMaine, we’re committed to providing affordable sailing opportunities. Whether you’re looking to learn the basics, test your racing skills, explore Casco Bay, or you just want a convenient way to sail with family and friends without the expense of boat ownership, SailMaine has a program for you.
Lessons are typically offered in three-hour blocks. Some examples of lesson curriculum are below. Lessons are available for adults ages 18+. Minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Group Lessons
Jump on a J22 sailboat with an instructor and one other person (2 students max). Bring a friend or be paired with another interested sailor. SailMaine will attempt to match up participant skill levels appropriately. Lessons typically run 10:30am-1:30pm and 2:00pm-5:00pm.
$249/person, 3-hour class
Private Lessons
Private lessons are for those who would like be one on one with the instructor. The curriculum for a lesson is decided by the participants. Lesson start times are flexible.
Rates are based on a 1:1 ratio. There is a fee for additional student(s). No charge for children under 14 who are “additional” students.
