High School

SailMaine is where Southern Maine high school students go to learn how to sail and race!   This year we have teams from 6 area schools as well as a conglomerate team for sailors whose high school doesn't have a team.  We also have a development team for 7th and 8th graders and new sailors who may need more practice before joining a high school team.

We have two high school programs which run every year:  Fall season and Spring season.  Teams practice three days a week at our facility.  SailMaine hosts regattas on most weekends throughout each season to provide racing opportunities for high school sailors at every level of accomplishment.  Some teams/sailors will travel throughout New England to other regattas during the season.

During the fall season special sailing clothing isn't required because the water temperature is warm from the summer.  During the spring season, a dry suit is required.  SailMaine has some dry suits which can be used for the season on a loaner basis. SailMaine also has some sailing booties and spray jackets which are available on a loaner basis.
