About SailMaine
Initially founded as a 501 c-3 non-profit organization in 1995,
SailMaine currently acts as an umbrella under which many individual
sailing programs operate. Its role in the Maine sailing community
has centered primarily on acting as a fundraising apparatus
for activities such as Olympic campaigns, college racing,
high school racing, and junior sailing. As with most non-profits,
the strength of SailMaine is found in its volunteers and coaches;
however, the entire effort is propelled by the enthusiasm
of its participants and donors. In total, SailMaine has filled
a local demand for affordable, quality sailing opportunities
- a demand that continues to grow. |
