Director - Jeff Cumming

Jeff has directed the Junior Sailing program since its beginning in 1998, and is currently the Sailing Master at SailMaine. A graduate of USM, he was a member of the USM Sailing Team, serving as captain of the Fightin' Sailin' Huskies and being named its Most Valuable Skipper and Sailor. He was also Vice President of the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association for two years. He then turned to the 470 class where he raced with old friend Dave Hughes, who has gone on to be part of the number one ranked 470 team in the nation. He has been a avid sailor and racer in many different boats over the years, and is excited about helping meet the demand for adult sailing in the area.

Head Instructor - Doug Baker

A lifelong sailor with over 30 years of experience, Doug brings a diversity of experience to his position in the Adult Sailing Program. Besides serving as Head Instructor in SailMaine's Junior program for three years, Doug has logged many hours teaching adults to sail in private sailing lessons. An avid Hobie 16 racer, he also travels to weekend regattas all over the northeast throughout each summer, pitting his skills against the best in the business. Doug was the 1997 Hobie 21 National Champion and he won the Hobie 16 New England Championship in 2005.
