The Second Annual SailMaine Corporate Regatta came off Sunday without a hitch, a great time was had by all!

Winds were unfortunately quite variable. By the fourth race we had experienced everything from dead calm to 15 knots, and a tricky tide coming out of Back Cove had boats occasionally at a standstill.

Many thanks to the competitors; RBC Wealth Management, Curtis Thaxter, Fairchild Semiconductor, Verrill Dana, HM Payson and Navigator Publishing. Our heartfelt condolences to last year's Cup winner Cabin Cove Oysters who had to pull out at the last minute due to an equipment malfunction at work. In spite of this, Michael McAllister still managed to deliver a mound of the most delicious oysters that the participants descended upon after the final horn.

RBC Wealth Management, with Andrew Stern skippering took the day's honors, first across the line in all 4 races, though each race was tightly contested throughout. Team RBC's performance won them the AGA Correa Perpetual Trophy, which is theirs to defend in 2013.

SailMaine extends our special thanks to Win Fowler of Maine Sailing Partners in the committee boat, and Ted Stern who came to sail but spent the day in the mark boat when a team came up a sailor shy. Also thanks to our Cheverus High School coach, Henry Clews, who came down to help out Win for a few hours. Ann Blanchard was kind enough to come down and spend the afternoon taking many fantasic photos of the race, linked above. Sarah Helming Stern also lent her invaluable expertise to the event.

A shore side BBQ rounded out the afternoon events and accompanied the awards ceremony.
