Friday Fleet Racing
2011 Information coming January, 2011
Fleet racing is back at SailMaine, Friday, June 25th through Friday, August 13th. Starts at 5:00 PM, ends at 8:00 PM.
This year, we've opened up the field to sailors twelve years old and older, so the whole family can have a chance at some great racing fun.
The series will be sailed in the Collegiate 420, a sturdy, relatively high performance 14’ double-handed racing dinghy utilized in our College, High School, summer Junior Programs, and Maine Special Olympics Sailing. The boats have sails colored for Team Racing and are used for all of our High School and College racing events as well as summer Junior team race events.
You don’t have to come every Friday but we will keep score for those who participate in a minimum of three nights.
The cost to sail in this series is $80 per person for the season. We're serving it up a la carte as well for $15 per person per night, if you can't commit to the whole 8 weeks. The first Friday of sailing is free for everyone: you can "Try before you buy". You must also complete a registration form before you sail.
