Thanks to all competitors for such great sailing on Sunday at the O'Day Trophy Championship.

What excellent weather this weekend. The breeze was not as cooperative but we seemed to manage thanks to all of our fantastic group of volunteers on the water. The breeze showed up around 11:00am on Sunday morning as a northerly but continued to shift from east back to north throughout the day and varied from 0-10 knots. There was a decent amount of chop and the Portland Harbor current was at it's finest!

In spite of all these variables the race committee still managed to complete 6 races per division.  Many thanks go to the stellar race committee consisting of Sherry Mason, Laura Angell Evangelista and Andrew Gibbons.

Thank you as well to the Judges Team -- Head Judge Tim Tolford, Andrew Stern and Dave White. Luckily they only had to hear one protest. Thanks to Stephanie Helms for overseeing the scoring of the regatta and Jeff Cumming, SailMaine Sailing Master for his tireless effort to keep the boats and sailing site in working order.

Good racing by all schools. Congrats to Portsmouth Abbey,  Tabor Academy, St Georges School, and The Williams School who qualified to represent NESSA at the 2009 Mallory in St Pete, Fl, May 9-10, 2009.
