Come Sailing!  If you're looking for sailing partners OR want to introduce a friend to the joys of sailing OR want a low-key fleet race in Collegiate 420s or Lasers, Friday Night Social Sailing at SailMaine is for you!  Any member attending may be asked to skipper a boat or take extra crew.  Let’s get everyone out sailing!

After racing or your casual sail, meet back at SailMaine’s tent for a BBQ and (non-alcoholic) drinks.   Please sign up at least 24 hours in advance as these events are popular.

What: 420 Fleet Racing: For sailors with an interest in a low-key racing format. We don't keep score, but the group is known to get pretty competitive! Racing takes place in our fleet of Collegiate 420s (14 ft Dinghies) and Lasers (previous experience required).

Friday Evening Open Social Sail: A casual evening sail for people who want to get out on Casco Bay. This is a great chance for those of you who've learned the ropes with us (or have equivalent experience) to continue the enjoyment of the water under sail.  Sailing is in our fleet of Collegiate 420s (14 ft Dinghies) or J22s (22 ft keelboats).

After racing BBQ:   Simple BBQ – burgers and hot dogs with chips, non-alcoholic drinks

When: June 21 – August 30

How:  Sign-up by Thursday 5:00 pm to reserve a spot and indicate what you’d like to sail.

Cost: $25 per evening or $200 for 10 weeks (No sailing 7/5)

Who:  Open to paricipants ages 12-100 who have successfully completed a SailMaine course (JR sailing, HS sailing, Adult 16 hr course), has equivalent experience, or has our check out.  There will be a safety patrol boat on hand, but participants are expected to be comfortable with handling a small sailboat or keelboat, and aware of all the safety and boat handling considerations involved.

Haven't taken one of our classes yet? Take our Refresher Course - a three hour course to help you brush up your skills!
