High School Sailing, Spring 2012

1. January 23, 2012:
REGISTRATION opens

Forms will be available at the office and online after this date.

2. February 20, 2012, 5:00 PM:
Team Agreement deadline.
This document is the responsibility of the parent coordinator to complete. Individual parents need not be concerned with this deadline. On this date, the Team Agreement document is due, which must be signed by the Parent Coordinator(s) and school Athletic Director. This document needs to be signed only once a year This ensures your team of a spot at SailMaine this Spring, as well as your own practice and regatta schedule, team coach, assigned boats, etc. In addition, six (6) paid sailor registrations are due each season to ensure that the team has a minimum number of sailors to be viable.

3. February 20, 2012, 5:00 PM:
Registration deadline.
All registrations are due from returning HS sailors.

o Returning sailors signing up after this date will be assessed a $25 late fee.

o New sailors (i.e. never been on a SailMaine HS roster) are NOT assessed a late fee for the initial registration period. All forms are due before a sailor is permitted on the water.

o Sailors can sign-up for HS sailing at any point as long as the team is not at capacity. except if the team has completed tryouts and has a full roster.

o Please remember -- payment plans and scholarships are readily available.

4. March 19, 2012: Dry-land practice begins

Dry land practice and Team Orientation takes place over this week. Details of these events will be announced on the list serve.

5. March 26, 2012: First day of the full HS program:
1st week of practice on the water. Practice schedule will be announced at your first team meeting. No sailor will be allowed on the water without a completed form and payment (partial payment works as well). Please refer to your Parent Coordinator for information about your team meetings.

6. April 2, 2012, 5:00 PM: Deadline for second payment of the Payment Plan.

As in years past, the Payment Plan is a "half now, half later" arrangement. For all parents utilizing this plan, $250 is due February 20 with the remaining $250 due April 2. Please note that a late fee of $25 will be assessed for missing the February 20 deadline.
