Key Dates

Spring High School Sailing, 2010
Horizontal Line

  1.      August 5, 2010, 5:30 PM: Team Agreement Deadline
  2. On this date, the Team Agreement document is due, which must be signed by the Parent Coordinator(s) and school Athletic Director.  This ensures your team of a spot at SailMaine this fall, as well as your own practice and regatta schedule, team coach, assigned boats, etc.  In addition, six (6) paid sailor registrations are due to ensure that the team has a minimum number of sailors to be viable.

  3. August 19, 2010, 5:30 PM: Registration deadline
  4. On this date, all other registrations are due from returning HS sailors. Returning sailors signing up after this date will be assessed a $25 late fee. New sailors are NOT assessed a late fee for the initial registration period.

  5. August 31, 2010: Preseason practice begins
  6. Preseason practice is for returning sailors only, and will be held the week before Labor Day. A more detailed schedule will follow in an email from your team coaches.

  7. September 7, 2010: First day of the full HS program
  8. This is the beginning of full team practices as well as the beginning of the Intramural program. This is also the start of the tryout period, if a team has more than the maximum number of registrants. See the FAQ section for more information on the Tryouts and Cut Policy.

  9. October 1, 2010, 5:30 PM: Deadline for second payment of the Payment Plan.
  10. As in years past, the Payment Plan is a "half now, half later" arrangement. For all parents utilizing this plan, $250 is due August 19 (or August 5, if your sailor is one of the minimum 6), with the remaining $250 due October 1. Please note that a late fee of $25 will be assessed for missing the October 1 deadline as well as the August 19 deadline.

  11. October 30, 2010: Last Day of the Fall HS Program.
  12. The 2nd Annual Ghosts and Goblins Regatta will take place on Saturday, October 30th which signifies the last day of the fall season. Boats will be de-rigged at this time as well.
