Cheverus High School Sailing Team, NESSA and ISSA Members
Falmouth High School Sailing Team, NESSA and ISSA Members
Portland High School Sailing Team, NESSA and ISSA Members
We also offer Intramural Sailing in the fall for students not yet ready to compete on a varsity sailing team.
The Southern Maine High School Team (see below) is a SailMaine provided platform for any high school student in the Casco Bay region to participate in organized sailboat racing. Sailors whose school does not have its own SailMaine hosted team may join . For information on how to organize an independant school team and be hosted by SailMaine, please see our FAQ on the subject.
SailMaine organized the Southern Maine High School Sailing Team, a conglomerate team made up of sailors from area schools that do not currently have recognized sailing teams. While not sanctioned by NESSA or ISSA, this team is allowed to compete in events that are not qualifers for national or regional championships. The SMHS team has spawned several of the varsity programs we currently host, and contiues to serve as a first step for students and their schools in forming nationally recognized varsity teams.
