SailMaine supports varsity sailboat racing programs for Portland area high schools at our site on the Portland waterfront. School interest and student athelete participation has been steadily growing, as more young sailors and their families discover the sport. In addition, we also offer an Intramural program in the fall for students who are not yet ready to compete at the Varsity level.

  • Five teams practice three days a week in collaboration with one another . This allows each to have extremely productive practices, with a minimum of 18 boats on the water every day. SailMaine also hosts five to eight regattas throughout each season to provide racing opportunities for high school sailors at every level of accomplishment. The High School program is open to any local student in 8th grade or above.
