Intermediate Sailing Instruction

Description and Schedule
Horizontal Line

Intermediate courses are a continuation of our Basic Learn-to-Sail course. In 2012, participants can choose from two options; recreational intermediate or race oriented intermediate. Both classes practice the basics of sailing a small boat and deepen participant’s level of competence and confidence on the water. Students are expected to enter the class with an understanding of the basics covered in our Basic Learn-to-Sail class.

Recreational:
Emphasis is placed on improving boat-maneuvering skills such as anchoring, mooring, docking, heavy air tactics, safety and emergency procedures and basic navigation.

Race:
New this summer in J/22s! Our intermediate race course focuses on trimming the sails for maximum speed, flying the spinnaker, understanding a race course and other elements of sailboat racing.

If you don't see a time that fits your schedule, we'll gladly try to find one that can work. Call us or e-mail us. We'll see what we can arrange together.
