Registering for A Program

Here's how to register:
By Mail:

  • Download and print forms for each registrant (links below)
  • Fill in and sign
  • Send the form with payment to: SailMaine, 58 Fore Street, Portland, ME 04101

Online:

    You'll need Acrobat Reader 8 or later installed on your computer to fill in the form and send it in online. Click this link connect to Adobe's web site and install the reader.     –—>>>    Get Acrobat Reader

  • Click on the form you want from the links below
  • Fill it in and electronically sign the form. If you can't sign the form electronically, you'll need to sign it before you or your child begins the program.
  • Click the Submit by E-mail button in the form to send it. If you use Gmail or a similar service, you may need to save it first and attach the file to a new e-mail message. If you use a local mail client, the form will be sent in the background.

Here's how to pay:

  • Pay securely on-line with a credit card using Google Checkout. Just click the appropriate Google Checkout link below to use this payment method. You can use your existing Google account, or create a new one at the Google Checkout page that opens after you click.
  • By check or in cash either by mail or in person
  • By phone: Call us at (207) 650-7878. We accept Visa, Mastercard, or Discover.
  • You must fill out one form for every participant.
  • Forms are slightly different for each program, so be sure to pick the ones appropriate for your enrollment.
  • Please note: The Junior Program Schedule has changed for 2010 to a two week program presented in four sessions.
  • High School only: Team member conduct form to be completed and signed by the team member. BOTH High School forms will be collected by your team's Coach and/or Parent Coordinator, and can't be submitted online.

Summer Champs:
We are participants in the Libra Foundation's SUMMER CHAMPS program, and welcome participants utilizing this wonderful gift. Simply write your Summer Champs number on our registration form, pay nothing, and send in all three forms to reserve your spot (if Summer Champs is not paying for the entire fee, please remit the balance at time of registration). If you do not yet know your Summer Champs number, simply check the box that indicates that your Summer Champs number is pending on our registration form and send it in. There is no need to make a deposit if Summer Champs is paying your whole fee. We are Summer Champs camp number 351.

Fee Waivers:

Other full and partial scholarships are offered for the Junior Sailing and High School Sailing programs through SailMaine, Portland Parks and Recreation, and private donors. Please visit our FAQ for more information about financial assistance, and feel free to contact Sailing Master Jeff Cumming (sailmail AT sailmaine DOT org or 650-7878) with other questions you may have. Refund/Cancellation Policy

A full refund will be granted if request is made more than three (3) weeks prior to the program start date.

A 75% refund will be granted if request is made less than three (3) weeks prior to the program start date but more than one (1) week before the program start date.

A 50% refund will be granted if request is made less than one (1) week prior to the program start date but before the program start date.

No refunds will be granted if the program has already started, except in the case of significant extenuating circumstances (such as a documented medical condition).

All registrations are subject to the above general Refund Policy, with the following important exception:

In Adult classes, if a cancellation/request for refund is received less than three (3) weeks before the start of a course and would result in the cancellation of that course due to low numbers, no refund will be granted if the remaining course participants are unable to reschedule.  If a new schedule can be worked out for the remaining participants, a refund will be granted based on the policy above.
