  • 420's 35 LaserPerformance Collegiate 420s (formerly Vanguard). A sturdy, relatively high performance 14' double-handed racing dinghy utilized in our College, High School, and summer Junior Programs, as well as Maine Special Olympics Sailing. These boats have sails colored for Team Racing and are used for all High School and College racing events as well as summer Junior team race events.

  • 15 Optimists, an 8' single handed youth boat designed for basic sailing and racing. The Optimist has become the largest youth one-design class in the world, with currently around 180,000 Optimists sailed in almost every country on earth.




  • yngling20 Cape Cod Frosties, a 6'4" single handed boat designed for Adult frostbiting and used in our program for summer Junior Sailing. These boats were built and donated to SailMaine by the Compass Project.





  • Picture of a Yngling sailing upwind8 DeWolf Ynglings, a 21' Keelboat, designed for three sailors, but capable of being sailed by 2 to 4, they are perfect for our learn to sail and one-design racing activities. The Ynglings are an ideal entry level racing boat, and we hope to use them as a trainer for local Etchells and J24 fleets.


  • Catalina 22 - PF Dolce, a stable, sailor-friendly platform ideal for introducing adults to sailing.

  • Sea Sprite 22 - Cyane, more bare-bones than the Catalina, a great basic keelboat for adult learners.

  • Ericson 35 - Wind Game, a fully equipped cruiser-racer we will be using in our SailMaine Expeditions program, currently under development.
